What type of laser is used?

MedX Laser is a class IIIB laser. This means it is a non-thermal, low-powered, non-invasive laser. All of the laser equipment is CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved. The MedX Laser is also approved by the FDA.

How long has this type of laser been used?

Low level laser has been used in Europe for medical conditions since 1965. Nu Energy Laser & Addiction Service’s parent company, Matrix Therapeutic Systems in Ontario, introduced this type of laser therapy to Canada in 1985.

What credentials does the staff have?

Nu Energy is a professional health care clinic regulated and monitored by the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association, which assures clients of safe practice and therapeutic care.

Matt Landsiedel obtained his undergraduate degree in Addiction Counselling from the University Of Lethbridge. He has 8 years experience working in the field of Mental Health and Addictions, and several levels of training to become a Certified Laser Therapists through Matrix Institute of Laser therapy.

Which parts of the body are treated?

Treatment may be on the ears, hands, arms, feet, legs, and face.

Does it hurt?

No. All you will feel is a slight warming or pulsating sensation, and you will feel relaxed during and after the treatment.

What are the side effects?

Laser therapy is completely safe, painless and drug free. Precautions exist about combining laser therapy with certain medical conditions and medications; therefore, each client is screened before they receive our treatments. Otherwise there are no known side effects.

How long are the treatments?

Treatments generally do not exceed 30 minutes.

How many treatments will I need?

For smoking cessation, all you need is a single one-hour laser treatment.

For other programs, each client is assessed to determine the number of treatments required.

Are the treatments guaranteed?

The comprehensive laser therapy treatments are set up for 100% success. The laser treatment, consultation, printed material, and audio CD are designed to help you make positive lifestyle changes. Is laser therapy covered by medical insurance?

You can submit my services as a medical deduction on your income tax if it is prescribed by a licenced medical practitioner. Insurance companies and employee assistance plans may request a referral from your doctor.

What can I expect from Counselling?

Counselling is a process not an event! I start with an assessment of what is occurring in your life and how I can best meet your needs. My goal is to provide you with skills that can help you cope with life’s stressors. I am client centered; meaning I will meet you where you are at on your journey. I will create a treatment plan that will consist of goals you want to achieve during your time with me. Counselling is all about increasing your self-awareness and helping you discover a Nu Energy!
